Commercial Operations Manager

Manage the Student’s Union Commercial operation of all Retail, Food & Beverage units, including budget management, staff supervision, maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and customer satisfaction, working closely with the Venue Manager, Bar Manager, Asst Operations Manager. To set and maintain standards by leading a commercial team across all commercial units, taking responsibility for developing recipes and dishes taking into account industry trends and customer expectation. Ensuring a high profile and reputation of the Union and University are maintained. To manage the budget in relation to food and staffing costs to ensure profit levels are met. To act as Duty Manager for the SU premises.

Salary: SU Grade F £25,000 rising to £29,000.

Ensuring that food and service standards are maintained at a constantly high level in accordance with current legislation and accepted practice. To act as Duty Manager for the SU premises as required.

Salary: SU Grade E £21,000 rising to £24,300.

Deputy Venue Manager

To support the effective management of Keele Student’s Union venues provision, including bars, entertainments and technical requirements, involving budget management, staff recruitment and supervision, maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality and customer service & satisfaction, working closely with the Venue Manager, fellow Deputy Venue Manager, Facilities Team and External Security contractors, Ops Manager and Deputy Ops Manager. To set and maintain standards by leading a commercial team across all bars and entertainments provision, taking responsibility for developing products taking into account industry trends and customer expectation. Ensuring a high profile and reputation of the Union and University are maintained. To manage the budget in relation to sales and staffing costs to ensure profit levels are met. To act as Duty Manager for the Premises.

To support SU staff and departments with preparation, maintenance, and booking of SU facilities including room, AV, furniture and transport. To undertake general facilities maintenance and to support larger scale maintenance/refurbishment projects.

As a member of the Communications and Engagement team, to provide a front desk service, welcoming students and other visitors, providing a central point for information about services, facilities, events, campaigns for everything KeeleSU related. Student Voice Manager 

To manage the Student Voice department. Deliver effective student representation for Keele students. To deliver effective advocacy on behalf of students and influence Keele University policy and practice, as well as local, regional and national policy, on matters of relevance and interest to our members. To lead on faculty engagement, creating effective working relationships with key stakeholders in each faculty. Lead on the delivery of effective democratic elections and to serve as Deputy Returning Officer.
