KeeleSU is looking to recruit:

VOLUNTEERING CO-ORDINATOR (Fixed Term)

We are seeking a dynamic, versatile and highly motivated individual to work with the Volunteering Manager (Maternity Cover) to promote, administer and support student volunteering.

You will work closely with KeeleSU elected officers and staff. You will support students to identify, contact and begin volunteering and then help them to achieve tangible outcomes that impact positively on the experience of their fellow students and/or the wider community. You will be required to prepare appropriate resources including web materials, and use a variety of social media platforms to promote Volunteering. You will maintain and develop appropriate databases and implement effective administration of HEAR records and other data. You will assist with the coordination of one off volunteering opportunities and various events.

You will possess a good general level of education, excellent communication and organisational skills and have experience within the voluntary sector. You must have a working knowledge of current trends in volunteering and/or volunteer development and will have excellent IT skills preferably experience with databases. You must have the ability to prepare and deliver training. You must have an enthusiastic and approachable manner and be able to enthuse, inspire and motivate others.

32 Hours per week

£8.76 per hour

The position is fixed term, provisional dates: 20th February 2017 - 29th September 2017 (There may be some slight variation to dates)

EARLY MORNING CLEANER

To undertake various cleaning duties including uplifting furniture, mopping, sweeping, operating cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers etc, wiping furniture, walls and paintwork, cleaning toilets and other related tasks. You will be working in a busy multi use venue that features bars, nightclub areas, catering outlets, shops as well as a general social areas and a number of office spaces.  Experience essential

Working Hours: 4am until 9 am - Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat

25 hours per week.

The positions are term time only (32 weeks), there is likely to be additional weeks to cover occasional events and holidays etc

Senior Catering Assistant

Keele University Students’ Union require Senior Catering Assistants to work in our catering outlets. You undertake all aspects of the catering role, working within a team of staff, cooking food to a high quality, serving food and drinks, dealing with customers, using a till and dealing with stock. In the role you will also undertake dining room duties, clearing tables and pot washing. KeeleSU has three catering outlets including a coffee shop, you may be required to work in any of the outlets.

Coffee shop/Starbucks experience would be desirable, as would experience of cake making and baking.

You should have experience of working in a food environment, be able to use your initiative, have great team-working skills, have a food safety qualification, excellent customer care skills and excellent communication skills. Some flexibility of availability will be required to cover special events throughout the year.

Pay rate: £7.39 per hour

30 hours per week
Working 5 days over 7
Typical shifts 7.45am to 2pm/12 noon to 6pm

Mini-bus Driver

KeeleSU is looking for a mini-bus driver to operate and provide an effective and safe transport and safety bus service, working some nights (from 9.00pm until the early hours) driving students to their homes on campus and in the local area and also days providing a transport service for clubs and societies travelling and other external hire.

You will hold a clean, current, full UK driving license (with a valid D1 category, B +E, D1+E). You must have at least two years past driving experience.  You will be a good team worker with excellent customer care skills and a good general knowledge of the local area.
