Irish dance is a traditional form of dance which can be done individually or as a group (ceili dancing). There are two types of shoes worn in Irish dance: heavy/hard/jig shoes and pomps/light/soft/ghillie shoes. Many people know Irish dance from Riverdance and Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance. It is a fun way to keep fit and try something new!
We run weekly classes and workshops for beginners and experienced members which are led by the committee.
Our society has won KeeleSU's Society of the Year and Society Event of the Year (with our UK Inter-University Competition), as well as coming highly commended for Society Partnership of the year, and shortlisted for the NSVA's National Event Award.
