With a carefully designed touring circuit taking in 30 universities, Coffee House Sessions holds acoustic performances at up to three different campuses a day over a ten-day period and provides promotion for the showcased artists through student media outlets such as student newspapers, student radio and student TV at each university.Launched in September 2013 with Huw Stephens from Radio 1, Coffee House Sessions is an unprecedented new music initiative, exposing the most exciting in upcoming UK music talent to the student market via daytime performances in University coffee shops around the country.
Coffee House Sessions is an exciting promotional platform for both breaking and established artists, and the first project of its kind that brings live music back onto university campuses via a truly unique and engaging format.
Singer-songwriter Joshua Burnside follows up his Northern Ireland Music Prize winning debut album Ephrata, with a brand new EP entitled All Round The Light Said, released on 29 June via Quiet Arch. Weaving elements of Irish traditional and European folk music with hints of Americana, he creates songs that are understated yet passionate and heartfelt.
Following the release of Ephrata Joshua Burnside has had a busy year clocking up four million plays on Spotify, with two sell out London shows, appearances at International festivals including Reeperbahn and The Great Escape.
He took his band to Austin, Texas to perform at SXSW where he was chosen by NPR as one of the festival highlights.
