Touka Fernande is a researcher in the history of people of African descent with a specialism in the Black British presence and experience. She is passionate about making history tangible, relevant and active to how we live and progress. She leads a teaching team for a supplementar school and a founder of Emerge a mentoring programme for young people.
Explore the period of Tudor England, the African contribution and influence at the time. Unpicking vital evidence of the period participants will be exposed to the breadth of historical evidence and rich legacy concerning the African experience.
Understand where Blackamoores came from and where they are now and highlight the various roles played and their contribution to English society.
