Keele Debate and Discussion Society over the past academic year have played an active role in the KeeleSU Democracy process. They have actively encouraged their members to go along to UGMs and AGMs, meaning the whole society has a greater understanding of how the SU operates and has meant many members have stepped forward to run in elections.
Debate and Discussion have also been very active with other societies and SLS’s , such as Keele Atheist and Humanist Society, LGBT, Think:Green, Politics, ISOC, Labour, Conservative and Liberals, facilitating a number of political debates.
As a result of all this hard work, the society was this year awarded two awards at the KeeleSU Awards 2013, firstly the ‘Committee of the Year’ award, as well as the, ‘Societies Choice: Society of the Year’ Award.
