WHO ARE WE
We are concerned with spreading awareness about the oppression and injustices faced by the Palestinians. We aim to shed light on history and current events affecting the Palestinian people, within Palestine and the diaspora. We are inspired by the strength and courage of Palestinians who resist colonial practices from both sides of the apartheid wall. We host an array of events on campus to inform about the reality of living under occupation and offer a variety of ways in which we can directly support the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, justice and liberation.

WHAT WE DO
Motivated by the success of the BDS campaign against the apartheid in South Africa, we support the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel, which we believe is the key campaign that may force Israel to comply with international law and respect the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people in their homeland. To build our own campaigns on campus, we work with various grassroot resistance movements within Palestine, such as local village committees who demonstrate against the wall, the BDS National Committee (BNC) and the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI). Moreover, we regard the Palestinian struggle as a part of a wide coalition of human rights battles, and therefore we work with other groups on campus that fights against racism, sexism, homophobia and other unjust forms of oppression.

HOW WE DO IT
We highlight the reality of the daily lives of the Palestinians, living under occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid: Night raids on Palestinian homes; Administrative detentions without trial of both children and adults; Limited access to water, agriculture, employment, education and health services, all have become daily procedure. We host campaigns, public lectures, films, stimulating debates and cultural events, all in order to foster awareness and motivate action. We provide information about the BDS campaign and implement its principles throughout the campus. Wes also cooperate with parallel Palestine societies across the UK.

WHO DOES IT
With today’s technology and the rise of social media, we see ourselves as a growing grassroot student body which works with activists in Palestine, while being interlinked with other Palestine societies and solidarity campaigners across the UK and overseas. Hopefully, by the end of the year (2018), we will have a large membership base with weekly events on campus. One of our goals is to pass a motion to boycott products from illegal Israeli settlements both at the SU and at the University itself.
