Counselling Admin Intern

This opportunity takes place between 11 Jan 2021 and 02 Apr 2021. Closing date for applications is 11 Dec.

As the Mix's Counselling Intern, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, such as monitoring the inboxes, supporting volunteer counsellors and young people, as well as leading and co leading in projects across the charity. There is also opportunities to take part in training, to learn about different sectors within an online charity and to upskill in areas you are passionate about.


• Currently on a Psychology (or equivalent) undergraduate course or recently graduated from a Psychology (or equivalent) undergraduate course

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work flexibly

• Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative

• Strong computer literacy with excellent written and oral communication skills

• Team player with strong communication and cooperation skills



• Knowledge in mental health issues and issues affecting the world today

• Knowledge in data and extracting data

• Understanding safeguarding and child protection


Key areas of responsibility:

• Being responsible for day to day counselling administration that support the needs of the team

• Helping to ensure the smooth running of the counselling service

• Support with the recruitment, training, induction, and retention of volunteer counsellors

• Monitor counselling records on Salesforce, ensuring cases are closed properly • Collect data summarising key areas in the service, such as referral reasons

• Develop learning material for volunteers, as well as general material to aid with volunteer retention

• Ensuring any issues are communicated to service coordinator and/or team

• Keeping accurate records of volunteer forms and policies in line with our GDPR and Safeguarding policies

• Engaging with staff and volunteers through applications such as Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Share Point, etc

• Maintaining and monitoring systems such as: Better Impact, Salesforce and AWS

• Assisting volunteers by answering questions, concerns, and offering support

• Any other duties as required
