This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, a perfect opportunity to highlight that support is always available whenever you need it.
Our Mental Health page is full of information about the support available at Keele and from many other organisations dedicated to supporting your mental health. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just need someone to talk to, there are resources ready to help you.
As you go into exam season, it's important to take care of your mental well-being. To help you manage exam stress, a range of activities have been planned during this period, including relaxing walks and petting a therapy dog in The Hub. Keep an eye on the Keele app's What's On calendar and visit the University's Exam Plus page for tips to help you get through this stressful time.
Self-Care Tips
- Incorporate mindfulness or meditation into your daily routine. Apps like Headspace or Calm can be excellent tools to help you stay centered and calm.
- Remember that taking care of your physical health, will support your mental well-being and can help your academic performance. Regular physical activity, such as daily walks, and maintaining a healthy diet can boost your mood, energy levels, memory, and focus. Sleep is also very important - if you're having difficulty getting a good night's sleep, you can visit the NHS website for tips on how to fall asleep faster and sleep better.
- Reach out to your friends, family, or support groups. Sometimes, just talking about what you're going through can make a significant difference.
