🌟 Resigning from Your Society Committee Position

We understand that circumstances change, and sometimes stepping down from a committee role is the right decision. If you're considering resigning from your position on a committee, please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth and respectful transition.


🧭 Step 1: Explore All Possible Avenues

Before making your final decision, we encourage you to:

  • Speak with your fellow committee members – they may be able to offer support or help redistribute responsibilities.
  • Reach out to the Student Experience team – they can provide guidance, and resources, or help mediate any issues.
  • Consider a temporary break – if your challenges are short-term, a temporary delegation of duties might be possible.

📣 Step 2: Inform Your Committee

Once you've made your decision:

  • Notify your committee in writing (email or message) as soon as possible.
  • Be clear, respectful, and professional in your communication.
  • Offer to help with the transition, such as handing over documents or training a successor.

📝 Step 3: Complete the Resignation Form

To make your resignation official:

  • Fill out the  Committee Resignation Form  below
  • This ensures the Students’ Union is aware and can update records accordingly.

🔄 Step 4: What Happens Next?

  • If you are the President or Treasurer:
    by-election will be held to fill your position as soon as possible.

  • If you hold any other committee role:
    Your position will remain vacant until the next Clubs & Societies Election Period.
