Who are we

Keele SU is a charity which operates to support the students of Keele.

 

As part of that, we operate events for both Keele Students' and the public.

 

Unless otherwise stated, all gigs are open to the public and all clubnights are restricted to Keele Students and their guests.

Getting Here

Train

The closest train station is Stoke-On-Trent. 
From there you can either get a taxi, or the 25 first bus goes direct from the station to Keele Campus.

Car

Set your sat nav to Keele University Students' Union, Keele University, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 5BJ.
The pay & display car park at the front of the Students' Union is free after 6pm, and all permited car parks are able to be used after this time also.
 

Accommodation

There is a hotel on campus - Courtyard by Marriott Keele Staffordshire | Marriott Bonvoy

 

There are also plenty of hotels in Newcastle-Under-Lyme town centre and in the local area.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in our venues, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. On student events, a £25 fine will be issued as per the Venue Code of Conduct. On public events offenders will be ejected without refund. We offer smoking areas at all our venues.

How Do I Buy A Ticket?

As a member of KeeleSU, you automatically have an account on the website.  Log in with your usual Keele IT logon details and visit http://www.keelesu.com/whatson to buy tickets for individual events.  You can add as many tickets/items for different events as you like to your basket before purchasing.

There Is More Than One Ticket For An Event – Which Do I Purchase?

For each event please fully read the description as each ticket option indicates what the ticket is for. If you buy a ticket with a time restriction on, e.g. “before 10.30pm”, you must arrive in advance of the specified time or the ticket will be invalid. Make sure you purchase the correct ticket for the event.

If I Purchase An Advance Ticket, Am I Guaranteed Entry?

Yes, as long as you still conform to KeeleSU's entry policy, code of conduct and venue regulations. KeeleSU reverses the right to refuse entry.

Can I Buy Tickets For Guests (Non-Keele Students)?

Guest tickets can be purchased in advance by a Keele Student when the student is purchasing a ticket for themselves. Guest can also buy tickets upon entry. For larger events and freshers week, guest tickets may be restricted so are only available upon entrance, this is to make as many tickets available to students as possible. Guest tickets cost a minimum of £1 extra, in line with our signing in policy. If an advanced guest ticket is purchased the guest MUST enter with the student who purchased their ticket. Guests MUST bring photographic ID (passport, driving license or PASS approved proof of age card).

Can I Buy A Ticket If I Am Banned From The SU?

You will be allowed to purchase in advance any tickets that are on sale. However, if you purchase a ticket and are banned you will be refused entry and NO refund will be given. Please ensure you only purchase tickets for when your ban has expired.

Where Is My Ticket?

Your ticket is stored in your account which is accessible online and is linked to your Keele card.

Is There A Way To See My Transactions And Tickets On My Account?

Yes - log in to the website and go to http://www.keelesu.com/shop/purchasehistory to see all of your transactions, and tickets purchased online and from the Box Office.

Will I Get A Physical Ticket/Wristband?

No physical tickets/wristbands will be issued as proof of purchase.  However, there may be instances when certain items are issued as a souvenir and some special events where tickets may be issued. If you purchase a ticket online you will receive a confirmation email. Also, you can check your purchase history online (see above for details).

Do I Need To Bring My Keele Card On A Night Out?

Yes, always ensure you bring your Keele card with you. Entry is much faster if you have your Keele card. Guests MUST bring photographic ID and must enter with the student who purchased their ticket and signing them in.

Why Do You Scan Our Keele Cards When We Enter The SU?

This is the fastest entry method to check for advance tickets. Your Keele card is proof you are a student and as such a member of KeeleSU.

What Do I Do If I Lose My Keele Card?

Apart from getting a new Keele card from the IT Service Desk (In the Library), the tickets will still remain active on your account.  You can use the Keele SU app AND another form of ID to enter the building.  When entering the SU for an event you will need another form of photographic ID if you do not have your Keele card.

Can I Sell My Ticket If I Can No Longer Attend?

There are NO refunds on any tickets for KeeleSU Entertainments events.

Can I Transfer My Tickets To A Friend?

Transfers of tickets will only apply when the face value of the ticket (excluding the booking fee) is over £5*. Transfers can be done via KeeleSU Reception Monday-Friday from 09:00 to 16:00. No transfers will be done after midday on the day of the event. In order to transfer a ticket, both parties must come to Reception during the specified times with their Keele cards in order for it to be processed. 

* NB. There will be no transfers available on Freshers’ Week events or passes.

What Happens If I Purchase A Ticket But Do Not Use It?

Tickets are sold per event. If you fail to use your ticket it cannot be refunded.

Tickets (Gigs/Concerts)

How Do I Buy A Ticket?

For the vast majority of events held at Keele SU, tickets can be purchased from keelesu.com. You will need to create an account, but then you can add as many tickets/items for different events as you like to your basket before purchasing.

Tickets may also be available on other authorised websites, most commonly See Tickets and Skiddle. If you are unsure if the website you are trying to buy tickets through is genuine, please contact su.tickets@keele.ac.uk, tickets that are not puchased from an authorised site will be invalid and entry will be refused.

Age Restrictions

All shows are for over 18’s only unless stated on the event page. For over 14’s shows, customers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. To avoid disappointment, all patrons should carry identification and proof of age.

 

Please note we run a Challenge 25 policy, so if you appear to be under the age of 25 please do not be offended if we ask you for ID, if you are fortunate enough to be graced with younger looks then please bring some appropriate ID with you, this policy is not intended to cause you embarrassment but is important for us to ensure we are acting within our premises licence and the licencing act.

We operate a cloakroom on the majority of events we run and can be found just inside the main doors.

Venue Rules & Regulations

Entry to the Students’ Union signifies agreement to the following terms:

  1. Right to refuse admission is reserved where customers are behaving in a way that staff consider to be, or could be anti-social, cause harm or annoyance to themselves or others, breaches the venues premises licence or the Venue Code of Conduct.
  2. Entry to events without advance tickets is strictly on a first-come first-served basis.
  3. All shows are for over 18’s only unless stated on the event page. For over 14’s shows, customers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. To avoid disappointment, all patrons should carry identification and proof of age.
  4. All customers consent to being filmed, recorded and photographed as members of the audience.
  5. Purchase of a ticket signifies a binding contract and as such the purchase price is non-refundable.
  6. Tickets remain the property of the promoter until full payment has been received.
  7. The venue reserves the right to change the bill without prior notification however every effort is made to ensure that the performance continues as advertised. In the event of cancellation of the event, patrons should seek refunds at their place of purchase.
  8. Tickets purchased from unauthorised sources may not be valid for entry, for the avoidance of doubt, the Students’ Union website will contain the authorised ticket sellers for each event.
  9. Official merchandise is only on sale in the venue, do not buy outside.
  10. No professional type cameras, video cameras or audio recording equipment will be allowed into the venue.
  11. Any access requirements should be organised in advance via email to su.venues@keele.ac.uk.
  12. Smoking is not permitted in our venues, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. On public events offenders will be ejected without refund. We offer smoking areas at all our venues.
  13. Any ticket holder throwing objects, including but not limited to alcohol, cups etc will be removed from the building without refund.
