Are you one of those people who want to stay on top of everything? If you are, you are probably wondering what you can do before you fully join our Keele community. Well, here are a few things that you can do.
Take a trip to Keele
Why not visit us over the holiday? You have probably considered many universities when uni hunting, so your mind might have become muddled up with each campus. So come down and refresh your memory. If you cannot do that for whatever the reason, why not take a look at our virtual open days!
Visit Newcastle & Hanley
Familiarise yourself with our local area. Find out where to do your shopping and what places you can visit during your university stay.
Complete your online induction
First things first. Every year when you arrive at Keele, there is an ‘Induction’ module that you need to complete. It walks you through who we are, the facilities we have and more generally important information.
All you need to do is go to the KLE (Keele Learning Environment – that’s what we call it), this is the main site that you will use to access your modules, your reading lists, Keele resources and the place to find your grades.
So, click on our website, go to ‘Students’ (in the top grey bar), click on ‘Student KLE’ and log in. Once there you will be able to see a section called 'Courses' on the left-hand side of your screen. In that section, you will be able to find the 'Induction' course that you are required to complete.
Modules
Have you selected the specific modules that you are going to take for your course? If not, you can do so now. Remember to read the module description for the courses that you are considering taking, so you know what to expect from the course and what is expected from you.
If you do want to change your course, modules or are still deciding, you can normally switch things up during Welcome Week and into the first couple of weeks of the semester. You won’t be the only one, trust me!
Website
Why don’t you explore the KLE and Keele SU websites? Familiarise yourself with all we have to offer.
Like most people, you have probably looked at a few university websites before choosing Keele. You might be a bit muddled up with what you saw for Keele and what you saw on another website. So check us out again and re-familiarise yourselves with us.
Social Media
Finally, make sure you follow and join our latest social media pages including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Here you’ll find our most recent updates on news, activities and events. You can also connect with the wider 2022 - 23 Student Life Community, they’ll all be in the same boat as you.
