Hello and welcome to KUMU! 

Keele University Music Union (KUMU) is designed to bring the music societies together. We organise and run a range of events to encourage inter-society interaction; highlights being the Christmas meal, Summer Performance Ball, and the Summer extravaganza! We also run smaller events and socials throughout the academic year, allowing the music groups to mix. KUMU also book the concert venues and decide on the programming for the year as well as helping out with advertising. We also create and organise the annual merch drops!

We’re committed to making sure everyone feels welcome and supported. Whether you’re an experienced performer, a complete beginner, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you here. As such we offer pastoral support and help manage rehearsal spaces, so you can focus on what matters most: enjoying music and being part of the community.

There are nine different music groups that we represent: Acapella, Brass Band, Clarinet Choir, Concert Band, Flute Choir, Jazz Band, Philharmonic Ensembles, Show Choir and Symphonia Orchestra. Information about the individual societies can be found on their SU pages. 

KUMU is FREE to join! A membership will add you to our mailing list so you don't miss out on hearing about key events through the calendar year and allow us to continue to work on behalf of all music societies!
