We teach both social Salsa and Bachata dancing, with the opportunity to be part of our outstanding performance team and to travel across the country to partake in Salsa and Bachata events.

If going to the gym isn`t your idea of fun, we`ll be perfect for you! You might even make some lifelong friends along the way!

We're not like other societies, we're different! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced dancer, all are welcome! We host socials including movie nights, social dancing, and more!

We hope to see you soon!

Sunday the 28th 1pm - 4pm in WM1.02.

Lessons are every Sunday 3pm - 6pm in the Ballroom.

Keele Salsa Code of Conduct:

At Keele Salsa we are committed fostering a welcoming, repectful, and professional environment to everyone. By taking part in any Keele Salsa Society event/WhatsApp group, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines.

Respectful Behaviour and Inclusivity:

  • We welcome dancers of all backgrounds, and skill levels.

  • We expect all members (new and old) to be respectful and considerate at all times.

  • Consent is key: always ask before initiating a dance and respect any no or hesitation – Rejection is not personal they may just need a break from dancing.

Dance Floor Etiquette:

  • Maintain good personal hygiene – fresh breath (gum), clean breathable clothes, and deodorant are recommended and appreciated.

  • Social dancing is for fun and creativity, avoid correcting others unless asked to do so.

  • Accidents happen! If you accidentally collide or step on someone apologise politely.

  • Switch partners regularly unless instucted otherwise, everyone benefits from dancing with a variety of people. Variety = Confidence!

WhatsApp Group Conduct:

  • Please be respectful when communicating in the WhatsApp group, avoid spam, or excessive messages – and be respectful of each other’s time. We are all busy with university life!

  • Each group chat in the community has a purpose, please use them appropriately (e.g. socials group chat for information and questions about society socials).

Consequences for Breeches:

  • In the first instance the committee will reiterate expectations of conduct and highlight the importance of adhering to these guidelines to the society.

  • In the second instance we will discuss the matter privately with those involved.

  • In the third instance we will encourage members to report any misconduct to the SU/Student Services and provide as much information, guidance, and support as possible.

  • In the event of a serious incident, the committee may see fit to intervene and call the relevant authority to step in, potentially leading to removal from the event.

Reporting Misconduct:

We are committed to ensuring a safe, respectful environment for all. If you experience/witness inappropriate behaviour, please feel free to speak to a committee member directly or complete the anonymous feedback form. We take concerns seriously and will respond fairly and promptly.

Last but not least don’t forget to have fun and enjoy yourselves!
