Mens Football

Based on values of passion, progression and commitment, we pride ourselves on being able to offer football for anyone, regardless of your experience level. 

Teams

We have 6 squads in the club - 1st & 2nd teams compete in the Staffordshire County Senior League (SCSL), 1st, 2nd & 3rd Team play in BUCS, and the other 3 compete in internal leagues ran by the football club, focusing on developing their game. In this way, we have a system in which you can easily progress between the teams as you improve your ability. If you would like to stay in one of the development squads, that's fine too; we have members that join the club for its social aspects and general wellbeing. However, if competing is your motive, then our SCSL & BUCS teams provide a competitive and serious environment to achieve your potential. We also have a futsal team that competes in BUCS.

Socials

The club is a tightly-knit brotherhood with evening socials and nights out following our Wednesday fixtures. These are a fantastic team bonding opportunity. We have a social sec that creates themes for these nights, and we frequently join up with female clubs for these. Even in our most competitive teams, we encourage a culture of friendship and cooperation - joining Mens Football will guarantee that you always see someone you know on nights out, as well as seeing your friends around campus.

Keith Harrison

One of the major forces behind our first varsity event, Keith Harrison was a hugely influential part of the club. He sadly passed in 2015, with our sports park taking his name, in addition to our club retiring the number 6 shirt in his honour. The club completed a cycle ride to Paris to raise money for charity in his memory, raising over £1500 for MacMillan in 2019.

Trials

Each October, we hold trials for newcomers. In order to attend, see us at the sports fair at the start of semester one and also review the plans on the discord.
