Mountaineering

Do you enjoy the great outdoors, fresh air and regular hiking trips? or perhaps you prefer competitive and/or non competitive bouldering/rope climbing? or maybe you just want to meet new people and join us at our socials? Well we think you’d love Keele Mountaineering Club!

From climbing step ladders, to taking on V7s, all experience levels are welcome! Whether you want to train hard and strive to get better, or just want a fun way to get fit and make friends, everyone is invited to get involved!

We currently hold one training session a week at both KiInworx Climbing Centre and Awesome Walls in Stoke:

Transport to and from training will not be included in the membership but we will help with organisation so don't worry if you don't know anyone yet! This year members also will pay for their own climbing costs. Kilnworx will be at a discounted price of £6 per session and keep an eye out for deals at Awesome walls.

We also compete in various competitions throughout the year. From friendly bouldering competitions to competitive ones like Varsity!! So if you feel like getting competitive keep an eye out for that!

If mountaineering or hiking is more up your street, we aim to offer lots of day hike trips throughout the year as well a weekend trip. These will take you to some of the best sights the UK has to offer, from the Peak District to Snowdonia to The Lakes.

Tickets for hikes will be sold through the SU website on a first come first serve basis. These will range in price depending on how much it is to run.
