Mountaineering

Do you enjoy the great outdoors, fresh air and regular hiking trips? or perhaps you prefer competitive and/or non competitive bouldering/rope climbing? or maybe you just want to meet new people and join us at our socials? Well we think you’d love Keele Mountaineering Club!

From climbing step ladders, to taking on V7s, all experience levels are welcome! Whether you want to train hard and strive to get better, or just want a fun way to get fit and make friends, everyone is invited to get involved!

We currently hold two training sessions a week at the Awesome Walls Bouldering Gym in Stoke which are held every:

Wednesday - 1:30 pm till 5pm

Sunday - 11:30 am till 4pm

We also compete in various competitions throughout the year. From friendly bouldering competitions to competitive ones like Varsity!! So if you feel like getting competitive keep an eye out for that!

• Our next competition is round 4 of Northern University Bouldering Series (NUBS) in Leeds on Wednesday 7th February (Week 3)

If mountaineering or hiking is more up your street, we aim to offer lots of day hike trips throughout the year as well as the odd weekend trip that will take you to some of the best sights the UK has to offer, from the Peak District to Snowdonia to The Lakes. For as cheap as £20-£30 (food included).

• Our next hike is Kinder Scout in the Peak District on Sunday 4th Februrary (Week 2)

To join the club and take your university experience to the next level and see some epic sights and epic climbs its only £30 for the year! OR £18 for semester 2
