Keele Symphonia is Keele's only ensemble that welcomes all instruments at all ability levels - yes, even saxophones in an orchestra! Whether you’re a beginner, a rusty returner, or a seasoned player, there’s always a place for you here!
We’re a student-led orchestra with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, where making music is about enjoyment, creativity, and community. Our repertoire is packed with film scores, video game soundtracks, pop hits, and a few classical favourites - something for everyone, and never boring!
We perform regularly throughout the academic year, including our Winter, Spring, and Summer concerts, each showcasing a mixture of exciting and accessible music for all tastes. This year, we were proud to make our debut at Keele’s Diversity Festival - a vibrant campus-wide celebration of culture, inclusivity, and creativity, bringing our unique sound to a brand-new audience!
From Page to Podium – Try Something New with Us
Ever wanted to try conducting, composing, or arranging music? With Keele Symphonia, we make this possible for you! We actively encourage all of our members to explore new musical roles - no prior experience reqiuired. Whether you're curious about waving the baton or writing your first piece, we’ll support you every step of the way.
Our weekly rehearsals take place every Monday from 6:00–8:00pm in Barnes Bar, starting on Monday 29th September 2025 for our first taster session of the year! It’s a fun, relaxed space where we come together to make music, learn from each other, and simply enjoy playing as a group. There’s no audition process, and absolutely no pressure - just the chance to be part of something creative and inclusive.
All instruments. All levels. All welcome.
Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, try something new, or simply meet like-minded people, Symphonia is a great place to start.
