Women’s Basketball at Keele is recognised as one of the most up and coming clubs in the University. KUWBC have formerly been voted BUCS Team of the Year at the biannual AU Presentation Ball, and a previous Team Captain was voted Sportswoman of the Year and a Club Captain was highly commended for their work and dedication towards the club. Last year, we upgraded to a higher division, so we currently compete in the Northern 2A division of the BUCS league. Due to this achievement, among others, Woemn's Basketball won Most Improved Club of the Year 2025. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated players who are willing to work hard throughout the season and become part of a brilliant team.
Basketball experience is not at all necessary; we pride ourselves on being a very friendly, welcoming and social team that cater for all sporting abilities, from complete beginners to international players. All we ask for from you is a positive attitude, a passion for sport and the determination to improve! We encourage competitiveness and experimentation during training to inspire progress and improvement, which is why the BUCS team train alongside the rest of the club to effectively enhance every players’ skillset.
Socials are held every two Wednesday nights throughout the season at the SU which is a great way to get to know your teammates, the Men’s team and all the other sports teams at Keele, by playing games, chatting and having fun. These always prove to be a lot of fun, bringing the team closer together and forming strong bonds between players. This season, we are looking to further extend our efforts for charity which is a great opportunity for every club member to get involved!
If you have any questions, you can email (au.womensbasketball@keele.ac.uk) or DM us (keelewomensbasketball), we are happy to help!
Keele Ballers look forward to seeing you at training!
