Women’s Basketball at Keele is recognised as one of the most up and coming clubs in the University. KUWBC were not only voted BUCS Team of the Year at the biannual AU Presentation Ball, but our former Team Captain was voted Sportswoman of the Year. The BUCS league we are apart of this season is Northern 3A division. With this we are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated players who are happy to put in a lot of hard work this season and become part of a team.
Basketball experience is not at all necessary; we pride ourselves on being a very friendly, welcoming and social team that cater for all sporting abilities, from international players to complete beginners. All we ask for from you is a positive attitude, a passion for sport and the determination to improve.
We dedicate sessions to individual skills, team plays and strength & conditioning. Sessions are fun and engaging but intense, with an overall emphasis placed on team development and enjoyment. We encourage competitiveness and experimentation during training to inspire progress and improvement which is why the BUCS team train alongside the rest of the club to effectively enhance every players’ skillset. Sessions focus on fundamental skills, team plays, fitness and good decision making.
Socials are held every Wednesday night throughout the season at the SU which is a great way to get to know your teammates, the Men’s team and all the other sports teams at Keele.
