“On female rugby teams – Everybody thinks we should have moustaches and hairy arses, but in fact, you could put us all on the cover of Vogue.” – Helen Kirk (1987)
Women’s Rugby is an ever-growing club at Keele made up of welcoming and friendly girls that have a passion for playing rugby and promoting it as a sport for women as well as men.
With our 1st XV team playing within BUCS Northern 3A, and having just secured a spot in an up-and-coming development league, we have more than enough room for well-seasoned players as well as those that have never picked up a rugby ball before. Through immense hard work and dedication, we remained undefeated in the 2019/20 league; earning us the Team of the Year award for the 2019/20 season. We also have connections with local teams who are always up for a friendly; and we will support you in getting on the pitch, whatever your skill level is! Sadly COVID hit us for the 2020/21 season but we're excited to be returning this season! If rugby isn't your thing we even have a social membership for those who'd like to join in for the social side of the sport!
If you would like any more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via email, Facebook, or Instagram.
