Landlords

Keele SU Housing Fair - Landlord Information and Booking

30th January 2024 // 11am - 5pm // Keele Students' Union

Keele SU Housing Fairs are organised specifically for students looking for properties and for landlords who want to showcase the properties they have. The Housing Fair is an excellent opportunity for landlords to come into direct contact with our student population, speak to potential tenants and register their interest.

Who can attend the Housing Fair?

Only landlords who have an up to date and fully compliant Accreditation Certificate from a local or UK-wide landlord accreditation scheme, like the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) or the Private Rented Sector Accreditation Scheme (PRSAS) are eligible to attend the Fair. Letting agents can only advertise properties that are owned by eligible landlords.

In addition, you are required to submit a copy of your tenancy agreement to su.housingfair@keele.ac.uk for checking by advisers from Advice & Support at Keele SU (ASK).

Why do I need to send you a copy of my tenancy agreement?

We need to approve your tenancy agreement before we can confirm your place at the Housing Fair. We will check your tenancy agreement for any clauses that are illegal, unlawful, or could be unfair.

Please note that if we've approved your tenancy agreement for a previous fair we do still need to see it again this year - we ask to see them every year because terms and conditions of contracts can change, new laws can be introduced, and further training can also develop our knowledge.

Please send a copy of your tenancy agreement to su.housingfair@keele.ac.uk after you've booked your stall. We are unable to open Pages files, so please send us your documents in Word or PDF formats and remember to send us a blank copy, without any of your current or former tenants' personal details.

When will bookings close?

Bookings will close on Tuesday 16th January 2024 to allow us time to finish checking tenancy agreements and make the necessary arrangements for the stalls.

What's included when I book a stall, and what is the difference between the standard and premium packages?

While booking you will need to select the number of properties in your portfolio and select either our standard package or our premium package. All packages come with a trestle table, chairs, space for two people, and free WiFi.

Standard Packages

If you purchase a standard package your stall will be allocated within the Standard area and we will try to accommodate requests for electricity access but this can't be guaranteed - electricity and stall positions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You will be offered 40 free A5 leaflets from Keele Print House.

Prices will depend on the number of houses or accommodation block rooms in your portfolio:

1 house / accommodation block room £72
2-9 houses  / accommodation block rooms £120
10-49 houses / accommodation block rooms £360
50+ houses / accommodation block rooms £480

Premium Packages

If you purchase a premium package your stall will be allocated within the Premium area and electricity access will be guaranteed. You will also be provided with:

  • Free vouchers for lunch and a hot drink.
  • Free printing of up to 140 A5 leaflets and 3 A3 posters.
  • Promotion on our Event page - with either a video tour or photo bank - and the link will be shared on our social media.

Prices will depend on the number of houses or accommodation block rooms in your portfolio:

1 house / accommodation block room £100
2-9 houses  / accommodation block rooms £160
10-49 houses / accommodation block rooms £460
50+ houses / accommodation block rooms £580

Will parking be free?

We will provide a free parking permit to all attendees, which will allow you to park in the university's permit car parks - if you require a permit you will need to provide us with your vehicle's registration number as the University issues paperless permits.

Free parking is not available in the Pay & Display car parks. If you park in one of these areas you must buy a ticket from the machine.

You can view a campus parking map on the University's website; your permit will allow you to park in all the bright blue and navy sections on this map. Please note the car park behind Darwin (previously the closest to the SU) is currently closed due to building works, so the nearest open car park is located behind the Stephenson building.

Please be aware that if you come in a different vehicle to the one that we’ve registered with the University you will not be permitted to park in those car parks and will risk getting a parking charge notice - do let us know as soon as possible if you need to register a different vehicle, and we will inform the Parking team of the change.
