CRITERIA

Volunteer of the Year
|
This award recognises an individual who has lives and breathes volunteering and has made a significant impact to the Keele community. All nominees must also be logging volunteering hours on the Keele SU Volunteering Awards programme, this will be verified at the judging stage.
The student being nominated must have demonstrated at least two of the following criteria:
- A significant & sustained commitment to the charity or project that the student is involved with.
- Making a significant difference to the charity or project that the student is involved with.
- Using innovative methods to improve the project or charity that the student is involved with.

Volunteer Above and Beyond Award
|
This award recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond, they live and breathe volunteering and have made a significant impact to the Keele community. All nominees must also be logging volunteering hours on the Keele SU Volunteering Awards programme, this will be verified at the judging stage.
The student being nominated must have demonstrated at least two of the following criteria:
- A significant & sustained commitment to the charity or project that the student is involved with.
- Going above and beyond to make a significant difference to the charity or project that the student is involved with.
- Using innovative methods to improve the project or charity that the student is involved with.

Student Voice Rep of the Year
|
This award goes to the Student Voice Rep who has gone beyond their normal duties as an academic rep: providing dedicated representation to their fellow students, helping to solve issues, and developing staff-student relationships within the University.
The judges will be looking for:
- Outstanding commitment to representation
- Ability to demonstrate a number of achievements.
- Excellent attendance at Student Voice Rep meetings such as SSVCs and Forums
- Visible to academic and Keele SU staff and students
- Ability to demonstrate initiative taken to solve student issues.
- Has completed training.
- Put themselves forward to become a Lead School Voice Rep or has engaged with their Lead School Voice Rep
- Demonstrates a commitment to both gathering feedback from students and feeding back to them, keeping students up to date with progress.
- Has engaged with education issues outside of the Voice Rep System such as at Union General Meetings

Lead School Student Voice Rep of the Year
|
This award goes to the Lead Student Voice Rep who has excelled the most in their duties as a Lead School Student Voice Rep: providing dedicated representation to their fellow students, helping to solve issues, and developing staff-student relationships within their school. They will be active within their school and known to staff and students. They will have attended a number of meetings to represent their students such as University Voice Committee or Programme approval meetings.
The judges will be looking for:
- Outstanding commitment to representation.
- Ability to demonstrate at least one achievement as a Lead School Student Voice Representative.
- Excellent attendance at Student Voice Rep meetings such as SSVC’s and Forums.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative taken to solve student issues.
- Has attended meetings beyond programme and School Level meetings.
- Has a good relationship with both staff and students within their school?
- Has submitted reports to the Education Officer.
- Has attended at least one meeting with the Education Officer and Student Voice team.

Student Voice Reps Above and Beyond Award
|
This award goes to the Student Voice Rep who has done their best to overcome a challenge. They will have gone above and beyond their call of duty to try and make a change within their programme or school. They will have been dedicated and reliable within their role and may have overcome adversity to effectively perform their duty.
The judges will be looking for:
- Excellent attendance of Student Voice Rep meetings.
- Visible to academic and Keele SU staff and students.
- Evidence of working hard and overcoming a challenge to achieve change.

Student Sustainability Award
|
The Student Sustainability Award will recognise a Keele University student or a student group who has made a significant contribution on campus for sustainability by generating awareness, implementing projects and/or creating new initiatives. The judges will be looking for one or more of the following:
- Service to the Keele Community
- Service to the community beyond Keele
- Building awareness of sustainability on campus
- Executing a green project with a lasting impact
- Leadership in sustainability-related student organisation(s)

Friendly
|
A friendly staff member is someone who goes above and beyond to put a smile on the faces of others. They put students at ease and have a positive and welcoming attitude and show a genuine interest in the wellbeing and success of students. They help to create a safe and inclusive Keele community for all.

Creative
|
Creative staff are always thinking of new ways to make content engaging and interesting. For teaching staff, the may use a variety of teaching styles to help students to engage in their subject. They are innovative and may embrace technology in their teaching methods. Creative staff are great at finding creative solutions to problems. They might have interesting insights to offer and embrace the Keele Difference and encourage and inspire creativity in students.

Supportive
|
A staff member who has provided practical assistance and resources to help students to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. They have shown a strong commitment to student success and wellbeing. They always show empathy and understanding, regardless of a students’ circumstances or background.

Puts Students First
|
A staff member who always puts the needs of students first and is always thinking of ways to improve their teaching or service delivery to give students the best experience that they can. They take student voice very seriously and seek out student feedback and act on this.
