My name is Charlie Stacey. I started at Keele in 2021 to study Psychology. I am the current wellbeing officer for Keele's Psychology Society and Keele's American Football team. I am standing to be elected as next year's Wellbeing Officer to ensure that the student's wellbeing and voices are heard. As an individual with five years of experience in supporting individuals with their wellbeing, if that was due to my committee positions or through my previous job before starting university, As I was a member of a welfare support team for my local council. As a student who has been here for the last four years, I feel that I can represent you the student body and provide the correct support and express the student body's needs to the university.
- Some of you may know me as the wellbeing officer for Psychology Soc and a third-year psychology student. As a psychology student, I understand the struggles, stress and upset that could occur and affect you during your Keele journey. As an individual who has lived through these issues and challenges, I believe I can best provide the best support for you through your Keele journey and make it more enjoyable.
- Others may know me serving you from the SU bar, I've experienced issues with safe nights out and the need for greater harm reduction, students support and increased services to enhance your time at Keele. As a bartender with 4 years of experience, I understand the importance of making your nights out safe but also enjoyable.
- As a student with Dyslexia, I undestand the stress that university, coursework and exam can be placed on you
- Many people know me as being a part of the AU and the Keele American Football team; being a part of this community during my time at Keele has made me understand the importance of creating a social support network during my time at university. Loneliness can become a significant issue for students. Your Keele journey should be fun, sociable, a new start for you as a young adult. I understand and experience these issues during my time at Keele .
- Before university, I worked with the welfare support team for my local council; during this time, I worked to improve the welfare of my community, helping members of my community with housing, finance, wellbeing and employability issues. Furthermore, during this period, I also helped volunteer with local food banks and other mental health charities such as Mind UK. Furthermore, I also have been a dedicated scout for the last 17 years, as a scout and a scout leader, I understand the importance of challenging, building and developing your resilience
