KPA

Welcome. If you've been redirected here from kpa.org.uk, you're in the right place!

The Keele Postgraduate Association (KPA) and Keele Students' Union (Keele SU) are coming together to form one unified Students' Union, and keelesu.com is now the main home for postgraduate students online. While the KPA website is being retired, the postgraduate community, spaces, and voice it represented are not. They continue right here on keelesu.com.

What's happening?

The KPA and Keele SU are merging into a single Students' Union.

This brings postgraduate representation, support and community into one organisation alongside undergraduate representation while protecting what matters most to postgraduates: dedicated space, clear representation and a strong sense of community.

This change is about continuity, not loss.

What stays the same for postgraduates

Although the name and website are changing, the postgraduate experience you know remains.

  • The Clubhouse remains a dedicated postgraduate space with the same identity, purpose and community feel.
  • Postgraduate students continue to have guaranteed representation, including a protected Postgraduate Officer role.
  • Postgraduate bursaries remain protected.
  • The values, culture and legacy of the KPA continue within the Students' Union.

From a postgraduate perspective, you should experience no visible change to your spaces, support or day-to-day experience.

Your postgraduate voice

Postgraduate students remain clearly and independently represented within the Students' Union.

This means:

  • A strong postgraduate voice in university decision-making.
  • Clear accountability for postgraduate issues.
  • Better coordination where postgraduate and undergraduate interests overlap.

Your voice continues to shape:

  • University committees.
  • Student-led campaigns.
  • Academic, wellbeing and policy issues that affect postgraduates.

Support, advice and community

Postgraduate access to support and advice is unchanged.

Through Keele Students' Union, postgraduates can continue to access:

  • Independent advice and guidance.
  • Support with academic issues, housing, wellbeing and complaints.
  • Advocacy and signposting when things aren't straightforward.

Just as importantly, the postgraduate community remains central, supporting connection, belonging and peer support at Keele.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse remains your postgraduate space.

It will continue to be a place to:

  • Study, work or take a break.
  • Meet and connect with other postgraduate students.
  • Take part in postgraduate-focused events and socials.

A dedicated Clubhouse page is coming soon with opening times and food and drink information.

Why this matters

The closure of the KPA website doesn't mean the end of postgraduate identity at Keele.

This merger ensures postgraduate students are:

  • Clearly represented.
  • Properly supported.
  • Embedded in the future of student representation at Keele.

The KPA's legacy lives on, not as a separate website, but as an integral part of a Students' Union that recognises and values postgraduate students.
