Part- time officer roles are unpaid roles which students carry out alongside their studies, they are required to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week carrying out their tasks and responsibilities. Each Part-Time Officer is supported by a specific Full-Time Officer.
As a Part-Time Officer, you are automatically a member of Union Council along with the Full-Time Officers.
Overview Role Description
The Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Students' Officer is a part-time position paying specific attention to a key demographic of Keele students. The BAME Students' Officer is responsible for publicising things of interest to BAME students, advocating for their interests, and makes sure their concerns and opinions are heard by the Students' Union, and work to develop KeeleSU’s policy on racial equality and increase awareness and challenge racial prejudice and discrimination through various campaigns. They also work with Elected Officers on joint projects and campaigns to benefit Keele students, and serve as a key contact between BAME students and the Students' Union. Only members who identify as Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic may stand for this position.
