And the Winners are...

Congratulations to all our winners at the 2021 Keele Student Awards.

We had 276 nominations in total and the judges had a very difficult job to decide the winners and the shortlist.

We annonced the winners in a virtual ceremony on Thursday 3rd June.

The winner of this years Swanmistress award was Alana Wheat. This award is the highest honor the Students' Union can bestow. The office of Swanmaster or Swanmistress is conferred on only one student (or rarely, a staff member) each year – by the Students’ Union Officer team – in recognition of a student who has contributed significantly to the spirit and community of Keele without necessarily holding a formal post or office.

On the win Alana said: "I am overjoyed to have been honoured with 'Swan Mistress' by Keele Students Union awarded to a student who has contributed significantly to the spirit and community of Keele.

"A huge thank you to Keele SU and those within it (you know who you are!) for all your support with various projects over my time at Keele. From kickstarting the Wildlife Society, to the Big Climate Fightback, Hedgehog Friendly Campus, Student Voice, campus green team, peer mentoring, and all the rest! I've learnt and experienced so much and gained invaluable experiences which would not have happened without you there.

"I look forward to seeing Keele SU continue it's environmental activity, supporting students, working with Green:Keele, and actions towards the climate emergency in the near future."
