Tom Robinson, your Development & Democracy Officer, has left his position at Keele University Students' Union. Tom has accepted an exciting new position at the Birmingham Guild of Students.

Tom has been an invaluable member of the Keele SU team, and his contributions have significantly impacted the student community. Having served as your Wellbeing Officer last year and now your Development & Democracy Officer, we are grateful for his dedication and hard work.

During his time as an officer, Tom initiated several impactful events, including:

  • Warmer Winter: This initiative provided essential support to students during the colder months, ensuring they had access to additional heating resources.
  • Speak Up, Don't Man Up: A campaign aimed at encouraging male students to speak openly about their mental health and seek support, breaking down harmful stereotypes around masculinity.
  • SHAG Week: A week dedicated to Sexual Health And Guidance, promoting safe sex practices, consent, and healthy relationships through engaging events and resources.

Message from Tom Robinson to Students:

"It has been a pleasure working with passionate individuals who have bettered my development and introduced me to the world of work. I have made some fantastic memories and really look forward to seeing Keele SU continue to grow and improve."

There will be no by-election for the position. The current Full-Time Elected Officers, Sophie, Zoe, and Matt, will share the responsibilities of Tom's role.

Nominations for the 2025/26 Full-Time Officer Elections will open on Monday 20th January 2025 at 9am.

We wish Tom all the best in his new role.
