We are Keele Salsa – a society dedicated to social Salsa and Bachata dancing, popular types of Latin dance that are practiced worldwide. We welcome everyone to come and have a go, whether you have any previous dance experience or have never danced at all! This is a great way to make new friends and learn an exciting new skill.

Taught by alumni Sam, our lessons on Sundays are open to all, with a variety of classes targeted to different levels of ability to ensure everyone feels welcome. We also host regular social dances, where you would be able to practice skills learned within classes in a comfortable and informal space, and make trips to external events, such as LatinMotion in Solihull and DCL (Dance Club Latino), hosted by the University of Birmingham, among others. Non-dancing socials can also include film nights, trips to the KPA, and meals out.

As a society, we hold auditions to become part of the Performance Team. With extra training and opportunities to regularly represent the society, this can be a fun way to expand your dancing horizons! Our previous Performance Teams have danced at competitions and events across the country.
