Student 1: At present, many social media releases made by Keele SU, its departments or societies are made (either in whole or in part) in image form. These images are impossible for screen reading software used by blind and visually impaired students to access. I would like the SU to: We should give keele the sign name ""squirrel"" (there are regional variations in signs, the link attached is just my favourite) https://www.babysignlanguage.com/dictionary/s/squirrel/?v=79cba1185463 Student 2: At present, many social media releases made by Keele SU, its departments or societies are made (either in whole or in part) in image form. These images are impossible for screen reading software used by blind and visually impaired students to access. I would like the SU to: "Ensure that the SU and its departments put proper captioning on information that they release via social media. Ensure that any text relayed as an image (such as a poster or a scanned menu) is fully accessible in a plain text format, preferably in the same post.Ensure that society committees are made aware of why it is important to propperly caption informational social media posts."
