As a Network Lead, you’re entrusted with shaping the future of your student network. You’ll foster a strong sense of community, advocate for your members, and ensure your network thrives socially and politically within the Students’ Union.

🧭 What You’ll Do

Your leadership will help amplify student voices, promote inclusivity, and create spaces where everyone feels welcome and heard. You’ll work closely with Keele SU staff, Full-Time Officers, and fellow Network Leads to make sure your network is represented, supported, and empowered.

📌 Your Responsibilities

1. Representation

  • Act as the lead student voice for your network in SU spaces and forums.
  • Gather and represent feedback, concerns, and priorities from your members.
  • Collaborate with relevant Full-Time Officers to escalate key issues.

2. Campaigning & Advocacy

  • Identify and raise issues affecting your network’s community.
  • Plan or support inclusive campaigns (e.g. awareness weeks, accessibility, gender safety).
  • Ensure campaigns align with charity law and Union policy.

3. Community Building

  • Organise or support events, socials, and forums to bring members together.
  • Create inclusive, safe, and welcoming spaces.
  • Promote intersectionality and allyship across networks.

4. Policy Engagement

  • Contribute to SU policy creation and revision.
  • Keep your network informed about decisions affecting them at the university or national level.

5. Collaboration

  • Liaise with Keele SU staff and external organisations to support network goals.
  • Attend training and development sessions to grow your leadership skills.
  • Work respectfully with other Network Leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

6. Communication

  • Maintain clear communication with members via email, social media, or group chats.
  • Encourage student involvement and feedback.
  • Promote SU events, services, and opportunities relevant to your network.
