Tools for Voice Reps

Voice Reps are the link between schools and their students, helping feed back to schools on the issues students are facing and more.

👋 Welcome from Your Education Officer

Hi! I’m Matt, your Education Officer. I’m here to support your studies and help you get the most out of your time at Keele. I was a Student Voice Rep myself, so I know how powerful this role can be. You’re now part of a team that helps shape the student experience — and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

🎓 What Is a Student Voice Rep?

As a Student Voice Representative (SVR), you:

  • Represent your coursemates
  • Gather and share feedback
  • Attend Student Staff Voice Committees (SSVCs)
  • Communicate outcomes back to students

You’re the vital link between students and staff — helping ensure student voices are heard and acted on.

🧠 What You’ll Do

  • ✅ Complete online training
  • ✅ Attend SSVC meetings (up to 4 per year)
  • ✅ Gather feedback from your peers
  • ✅ Share updates after meetings
  • ✅ Get involved in wider SU activities

💬 Tip: It’s not about your opinion — it’s about representing your coursemates.

🔁 The Feedback Loop

  1. Ask students for their views
  2. Take their feedback to SSVC
  3. Discuss and record outcomes
  4. Report back to students

Use tools like:

  • WhatsApp or Teams groups (with inclusive alternatives)
  • Anonymous surveys (e.g. Microsoft Forms)
  • Course forums or drop-ins
  • KeeleSU.com messaging tools

📋 What to Ask About

  • Teaching and learning
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Academic support
  • Learning resources
  • Community and belonging
  • Module-specific issues
  • General satisfaction

🏆 What’s In It for You?

  • 🧾 HEAR Recognition: Your role is recorded on your Higher Education Achievement Report
  • 🥇 Awards: You could be named SVR of the Year
  • 🤝 Volunteering Hours: Log your time and earn volunteer awards
