Welcome to your central hub as a Faculty Officer at Keele. This page is designed to support you in your role representing students at the faculty and university level, ensuring their voices are heard and acted upon in strategic decision-making.


🧭 Your Role at a Glance

As a Faculty Officer, you work in partnership with:

  • School Voice Representatives (to escalate wider issues)
  • The Keele Students’ Union
  • University staff and committees

You are a key link between students and senior decision-makers, helping shape the academic experience across your faculty.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Attend SSVC Meetings
    Join at least one Student Staff Voice Committee per school in your faculty each semester. Help raise and respond to feedback from School Voice Reps.

  • Faculty Education Committee (FEC)
    Represent students in high-level discussions on teaching and learning.

  • University Student Voice Committee (USVC)
    Contribute to university-wide student voice initiatives.

  • Meet with Faculty Leadership
    Attend quarterly meetings with the Dean of Education, and semesterly meetings with the Executive Dean.

  • Support School Voice Reps
    Liaise regularly to identify recurring or widespread issues.

  • Engage with the Students’ Union
    Participate in surveys, focus groups, and Have Your Say Days (HYSDs).
