English Heritage & National Trust Society

We aim to provide a relaxed environment in which to visit National Trust and English Heritage sites roughly once a month - you can come to as many or as few as you like.

Each month the Committee will suggest two possible venues and members can vote on where they would like to go to. Most votes wins! The dates and proposed options are below although please note these may change depending on other events offered by the National Trust or English Heritage, e.g. for Christmas, Easter, etc, or other activities the Committee arranges, e.g. socials or fundraisers.

These outings provide an opportunity to escape the 'Keele bubble' whilst being able to see interesting cultural sites, learn something new, enjoy some fresh air and make friends with like-minded people.

Currently membersip stands at £5, non-members are able to attend some events, although there will be a small fee for this. Just as a heads-up, our National Trust membership for the year costs £160, so hopefully you can see that our membership rates and ticket prices are really good value!

Trips to English Heritage sites would also include a small learning activity in order to comply with their 'educational groups' entry policy.

We are hoping to also be able to offer transport, whether use of minibuses or students offering lifts in their own cars so please don't be put off because you don't know how you would get to a venue. Equally, if you have a car and would be able to offer lifts, please let us know when you book your ticket for an event - if you take other members with you, you can reclaim fuel through Society funds so, again, please don't let the cost of fuel put you off.
