Korfball
Korfball is a fast-paced and dynamic game that is the only truly mixed team sport in the world.
What is Korfball?
Korfball is a dynamic team game that is the only truly mixed gender sport at Keele. Teams consist of 8 players (4 men, 4 women) and points are scored by shooting the ball into a “korf” (basket). After every two goals, attack and defence switch roles, so everyone gets a go at both.
Korfball is an exciting, increasingly popular sport where all are welcome. If you are looking to have fun, make friends and learn a new sport, this is the club for you! We had a brilliant season in 2021/22 (finishing 6th place at BUCS National Trophy, our highest ever placing). We are now looking for new players to help us push on and spread the word about what Korfball is all about! We cater to everyone from all backgrounds and no previous experience is expected or required.
Korfball at Keele
Keele currently competes nationally in BUCS and in the West Midlands Korfball League. We also contest in Leeds Tournament and other tournaments throughout the year and summer, so with a busy playing schedule, playing time is guaranteed no matter the skill level.
We also run a wide variety of socials, both in the SU and off-campus, so there'll be something for everyone. It’s a great way to get to know people off the court.
Our membership is one of the cheapest at Keele being only £35 for the whole year.
