What is Korfball?
Korfball is a dynamic team game that is the only truly mixed gender sport at Keele. Teams consist of 8 players (4 men, 4 women) and points are scored by shooting the ball into a “korf” (basket). After every two goals, attack and defence switch roles, so everyone gets a go at both.
Korfball is an exciting, increasingly popular sport where all are welcome. If you are looking to have fun, make friends and learn a new sport, this is the club for you! We had a brilliant season last year (finishing 1st in the league!) and we are looking for new players to help us push on and spread the word about what Korfball is all about! We cater for everyone and no previous experience is expected or required.
Korfball at Keele
Keele currently compete nationally in BUCS and in the local Staffordshire and Cheshire Korfball League. We also contest the Potteries Cup and other tournaments through out the year and summer, so with a busy playing schedule, playing time is guaranteed.
We also run a wide variety of socials, both in the SU and off-campus, so there'll be something for everyone. We also went and watched the Korfball finals in London as a team this summer. It’s a great way to get to know people off the court.
Our membership is the cheapest sport at Keele being only £25 for the whole year.
