Want to give back to the Keele community? Fancy having a laugh with new friends?
Alcohol is great, it can make for some enjoyable and memorable nights - but it can also be dangerous. Street Team is an award-winning society of volunteers who believe in helping their fellow students while they're at their most vulnerable - on nights out. We volunteer in the SU every Wednesday and Friday (and occasionally some other nights) to accompany students back to their halls, however we also assist in other ways - talking to students, assisting the staff (particularly First Aid) with issues, and giving out water, condoms, and a variety of other things to students who need them.
We rely on students like you to volunteer, and we have a lot to offer as a society to our members
Street Team is, perhaps surprisingly, a very social activity. The vast majority of our members did not know each other before joining, but have formed close and lasting friendships as a result. We hold monthly socials, both drinking and non-drinking, as a way of encouraging our members to get to know each other, as well as holding a variety of other activities such as end-of-semester meals and laser tag competitions. It also looks fantastic on your CV and offers a wide range of skills applicable to all kinds of jobs.
So If you're up for taking part in the 2018/19 Keele Society of the Year, meeting some great people, and giving back to the Keele community, pop on down to our semesterly training (usually held sometime in October and February - the date and location will be announced closer to the time) and if you have any questions feel free to email us, we'd love to have you!
