  • Join Keele's People-Planet-Place programme and help create a healthier, more sustainable and connected campus. Volunteers can support activities linked to wellbeing, food growing, nature, creativity, community engagement and sustainability. Develop teamwork, communication, leadership, project management and environmental awareness while making a positive difference.

People-Planet-Place is a University-facilitated, community-powered programme that brings together students, staff, alumni, partners and local communities to create positive change for people, planet and place. Supported by Keele University, the programme provides a platform for practical action, learning, wellbeing, creativity and community participation, while encouraging members of our community to shape activities, develop ideas and take ownership of initiatives.

As a People-Planet-Place Volunteer, you can take part in a wide range of activities throughout the year, including:

    • Food growing and gardening projects
    • Nature conservation and biodiversity activities
    • Sustainability campaigns and events
    • Creative and storytelling projects
    • Wellbeing and nature-based activities
    • Community engagement initiatives
    • Festival of People-Planet-Place events

There is no minimum commitment. You can volunteer on a one-off basis, attend regular activities, or take on a more active role helping to organise, develop and lead projects.

No previous experience is required. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, disciplines and levels of experience. Whether you want to learn something new, meet like-minded people, support an existing activity or bring your own ideas to life, People-Planet-Place offers flexible opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
